Chevy Tahoe 2024 Release Date, Models, Interior – For the 2024 model year, the Tahoe has been completely redesigned and will serve as the ultimate full-size SUV. For the first time in decades, the 2024 model year will include a diesel engine in addition to the two gasoline V8 options producing up to 420 horsepower.
Additionally, the Tahoe will have superior interior space, a more comfortable suspension, more excellent driving dynamics, and cutting-edge technology. 2024 Chevy Tahoe primary rival in this segment is the Ford Expedition, which it hopes to surpass with these additional upgrades. Tahoe rivals include the GMC Yukon and the facelifted Nissan Armada.
2024 Chevy Tahoe Redesign
The all-new 2024 Chevrolet Tahoe is set to launch this year. This three-row SUV has been significantly extended, with 66 percent more luggage capacity behind the third row and 10% more legroom in the third row, and a stunning new look. Air Ride adaptive suspension is available in conjunction with the new independent rear suspension as an option. Chevy’s inventory now includes new 3.0-liter Duramax turbodiesel engines and upgraded V8 engines, with the 6.2-liter V8 providing the most horsepower at 420.
Interior
The Tahoe’s increased rear headroom is most visible in the third row, where legroom has been increased by 10 inches over previous Chevy Tahoe reviews. The buttons on the left side of the steering wheel are challenging to see, and the cockpit area is unassuming. However, the interior design materials selected are not very eye-catching.
Another oddity is the motorized sliding center console, which, while it may appear to be a gimmick, really serves a function. There are a few advantages to the new model over the previous one. It has a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, power front seats, a remote start, and three climate settings. Additionally, the entry-level model has a Wi-Fi hotspot with 4G LTE support.
Engine
The 5.3-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine produces 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque and, like the other engine options, is coupled to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Previously, this engine was mated to an archaic six-speed transmission. The new 3.0-liter Duramax turbodiesel inline-six engine generates 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. To top it off, the 6.2-liter V8 engine produces 420 horsepower while maintaining the same torque output as the diesel engine. Both V8 engines include a cylinder deactivation mechanism that maximizes efficiency.
While the base V8 engine can push the new Tahoe around town, its slow nature encourages a more leisurely driving style than a furious sprint from point to point at top speed. This engine proved to be somewhat sluggish throughout our testing. As a result, we recommend upgrading to a different engine if you can afford it. We recommend the 6.2-liter V8 engine for easy passing, but the diesel engine might be a good choice for people who want to save money on gas.
